Staff Profile   STUART GOLDBERG, CPA - PARTNER Stu graduated with an MBA (Masters of Business Administration) Degree from St Johns University and received his Bachelors Degree in Political Science. Prior to becoming a partner in Resnick & Newman, Stu worked for Ernst & Ernst,C.P.A.'s, Eisner & Lubin C.P.A.'s, Platt, Barth, Elson, and Steinman C.P.A.'s and at Resnick & Newman as a staff member. Stu is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), the New York State Society of C.P.A.'s, The National Society of Public Accountants, and numerous other related organizations. As a partner of the firm, Stu works with clients in the small to medium business arena with gross annual revenues up to five hundred million dollars. Some of Stu's duties include, but are not limited to, corporate tax planning, corporate tax compliance and return preparation, audited financial statements, financial statement compilation and review, personal tax planning, tax compliance and preparation, bankruptcy accounting, retirement and pension plan compliance and preparation, estate and trust accounting and tax return preparation, client write-ups, payroll tax and sales tax preparation, computer systems analysis and WEB site development. Stu is also a New York State Certified Emergency Medical Technician (EMT-D) and spends most of his spare time either volunteering for the Irvington (N.Y.) Volunteer Ambulance Corps or coaching in his villages Little League Baseball program. Rob received his B.A. in Political Science from Montclair State College in 1973. Prior to becoming a partner in Resnick & Newman, Rob worked at Resnick & Newman as a staff member. Prior to co-founding Resnick & Newman in 1954, Elliott worked at Arthur Young & Co., Singer & Miller C.P.A.'s, was the assistant comptroller for Fred Waring & His Pennsylvanians and was comptroller of the U.S.Army Post Exchange Service in South Korea. In addition, Elliott was hired by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) to review the grading of the CPA exam nationally. Elliott is a member of the New York State Society of C.P.A.'s and the National Society of Public Accountants. Prior to joining Resnick & Newman in 1989 and becoming the senior manager, Gino worked for a few Certified Public Accounting firms in Westchester County. Gino prides himself and the firm by keeping current with all updates and modifications in industry audit guides published by the Internal Revenue Service and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. Gino's specialty in small to medium sized business setups, including incorporating businesses, compliance and business entity selection adds depth to the firm. Some of Gino's duties include corporate tax planning, compliance and return preparation, financial statement compilation and review, personal tax planning, compliance and preparation, retirement and pension plan compliance and preparation, estate and trust accounting and tax return preparation, client write-ups, payroll tax and sales tax preparation and computerization of clients books and records. Gino spends most of his spare time reading the I.R.S. Tax Code and has the great ability to transfer and explain complex tax law into understandable language for our clients to understand.
